Barcelona have told winger Ansu Fati to leave the club this summer as they seek to cut costs.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Per Sport, Barcelona have told Fati that he must find a new club as he has no future under manager Hansi Flick. Fati has struggled with a recurring injury, plantar fasciitis, and that, coupled with his large wages, have made him expendable.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Fati has a contract with Barcelona until 2027 and has clocked 112 appearances for the club. Still, the signing of Dani Olmo and the potential acquisition of Nico Williams means there simply isn't space for Fati to stay at the club.
